 THE VIRGIN DETECTIVE SERIES

1. THE RICHARD KANE CASE (Pilot)

Emil Haven IV genuinely dislikes being a Haven. He has spent most of his adult life doing un-Haven-like things, yet still hoping to win his financier father’s approval. A moderately successful writer of crime fiction, Haven decides that maybe his father would approve it if he tackled a non-fiction story. In his quest to find this story, he stumbles across an organized crime caper that’s just what he was looking for. But it inevitably opens up a can of worms that Haven just might not be able to handle. This story introduces Haven’s friend and soon-to-become-partner Metro Police Inspector Gino Botticelli.

                  (This is a standalone story, and a potential limited series pilot)

2.  THE ARONSON CASE

Contractor and multi-millionaire, Edward Furlong is being blackmailed for twelve million dollars. Through his connection with Emil Haven’s father, he becomes the first client for the fledgling Botticelli & Haven Investigations, which Haven and his friend, Inspector Gino Botticelli, a recently retired Metro Detective, have created. But this case is a little more complex than they imagined, due to the strange relationships involved. This story also introduces a new regular character by the name of Wiley Dupree, an ex-pat American hacker. 

3. THE RED FRED 22 CASE 

A lawyer named Frederick Atwater, who has aspirations of being appointed a Supreme Court of Canada justice, hires Botticelli & Haven Investigations to ensure that no one hacks a site he created many years ago when he himself was a legendary hacker. The case is mostly in the hands of their cyber expert, Wiley Dupree. But when the Atwater site is hacked and the hackers are found murdered, it becomes a whole different kind of case, one that could easily turn out to be quite lethal for everyone at B&H Investigations.

4. THE INSIDER TRADING CASE

Haven’s father has asked Haven and his partner, Gino Botticelli, to investigate a strange series of break-ins at houses on his street, The Bridal Path, which is some of the most expensive real estate in the city. Haven is too busy to work the case himself, so he and Gino bring on a part-time investigator, a newly retired homicide cop named Phil Rosetti. Gino and Phil solve the case quite handily but, as a result, it opens up a whole other situation, because the items being stolen were actually more illegal than the theft itself.

5. THE BAD-ASS LADIES CASE

Haven and Gino are asked to investigate a case of embezzlement at one of Canada’s largest banks. It seems pretty straightforward at first until they actually start trying to locate the embezzler, one of the bank’s executives, and can’t seem to find him anywhere. But there are a couple of women, a wife and a mistress, who quickly become persons of interest in the case. It’s a whole lot of educated guesswork until it isn’t. And Haven and Gino follow the crumbs religiously right into the USA.

6. THE SHOP & GO CASE

Somebody is robbing the Shop & Go Variety stores on the east side of the city. The perps are dressed in black and are wearing Hollywood movie star masks. The only clue that pops up is that the perps always seem to know the absolute best times to stage their robberies. Through some slick ingenuity from their computer guy, Wiley, and an old friend of his who is a security systems genius, they set a trap for the perps, hopefully to find out exactly who they are.

FINDING ANDREW FLETCHER

(SERIES PILOT STORY)

Dexter Fox and Roxanne Doyle met while Dexter was driving back to his home in Atlantic City from Canada. He picked up Roxanne, who was hitchhiking to New York City, to look for a job in the computer industry. Dexter has a special talent, a gift really, of being able to read people’s thoughts, which is something he has been able to do most of his life. Dexter’s used this talent to build up a considerable fortune from playing poker and blackjack at casinos, tournaments and private games in Canada where a 19-year-old can legally gamble. But Dexter has another idea about what to do with his skill, and on their trip convinces Roxanne to work with him, to help locate missing children. This story is about their first case, and how they go about solving the mystery.

OUTLAWS

Danny Freeman, a thirty-two year old career burglar, has just been kicked out of a two-year relationship with a woman in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is heading west in his Dodge minivan. He picks up a twenty-one year old hitchhiker named Jonah White, who is on his way to Vegas from New Jersey to play some poker and win some money. Danny, who is ten years older than Jonah, becomes interested because, in addition to being a thief, he also likes to write and after he gets to know a bit about Jonah, decides he would make a good subject for a novel or screenplay. Jonah, who has a special talent, finds himself in need of a bodyguard and recruits Danny, who is well-trained in the martial arts and also has a gun. Over the next six weeks, Jonah works his way into some of the biggest games and poker tournaments in Vegas and builds a stash of about eighteen million dollars. They then leave Vegas and head to California, which was Jonah’s ultimate destination. They find a beach house in Malibu, take some surfing lessons and spend several months riding waves up and down the coast. 

   One day, Jonah picks up a hitchhiking girl from Oklahoma who has come to LA to find her missing sister. Danny suggests to Jonah that he could use his special skill to help locate the missing girl. They eventually find her, with the help of a hacker named Tex, who they met at Venice Beach. After this case is solved,  Danny, Jonah and Tex decide they complement each other very well and go into the business of finding missing persons together.

THE SWORD OF DAMOCLES ( A Blue Fin Group Story)

1. BLUE FIN CONSULTING L

The Blue Fin Consulting Group, a black bag assassination group run by a former NSA Deputy Director, Phillip Ross. Their primary mission is to keep the Democratic party in power in the United States by any means necessary. This is a four-part story which features three of the assassins the Blue Fin Group uses, along with their backstories.. The group’s main challenge is keeping one step ahead of a tenacious FBI major crimes team investigating the assassinations. 

This story is about would happen if the Democrats decided to really fight back against the ever-growing scourge of right-wing extremism both political and financial.

2. JACKSON LYALL

Jackson Lyall is a former marine sniper who got out of the Afghanistan fiasco fairly intact and also fairly well off from a stash of heroin, jewelry and money his unit found when they raided a Taliban bunker. He returns to America and decides to settle in Richmond Virginia and follow his passion for photography.

Here he is recruited by the Blue Fin group for a mission to eliminate five of the most influential right-wing agitator group heads at the behest of a senior Democrat senator, who along with Phillip Ross, formed the Blue Fin group. The only complication is that Jackson and Ross’s daughter fall in love.

3. JULIETTE DODGE

Juliette Dodge is a Senator who has been groomed by the Democrats in congress to be the first woman president. But, once the news gets out, and she begins planning her campaign, she starts receiving some threats that she and everyone around her, are taking seriously. Juliette Dodge’s mentor, the senior senator who created the Blue Fin Group with Phillip Ross, calls on them to scope out the venues where Mrs Dodge will be speaking as she hits the campaign trail. Phillip Ross, assigns their former shooter Jackson Lyall and their investigator Missy Felder to safeguard Mrs. Dodge. Sure enough, there is an assassination planned for her very first rally in Boston. And though Jackson was officially finished with killing, he’s very happy that he decided to bring a gun.

4. JARRETT MORROW

As Juliette Dodge’s first term as president winds down, The Blue Fin Group has been assigned a series of assassinations of Republican politicians who are among those being considered for a run for the presidency. But with the FBI hyper aware of the super clean assassinations over the past few years, the Blue Fin group feels the need to import someone from outside the US. Through Blue Fin’s owner Phillip Ross’s international connections, he finds an ex-British Special Forces sniper named Jarret Morrow and recruits him to take out the five leading republican contenders for the presidency. Morrow accepts the assignment and joins forces with Blue Fin’s Missy Felder to scope out the assassinations, starting from the top down with the goal of execute them cleanly. 

5. HENRY FEATHER

With Juliette Dodge is considering not running for a second term as president the Blue Fin people became acquainted with Henry Feather, an ex-US Army sniper, when they helped him out with an assassination attempt on his father, a US senator who is being seriously considered as her successor. They were impressed with Henry and always in need of a good sniper, so they leave him with an open offer to join the group. But Henry is determined to make it in the real world, so he teams up with his girlfriend, Lucy and starts working as a writer with her in her father’s marketing company in Baltimore. But after a few months, he finds himself feeling quite claustrophobic. So he decides to take the Blue Fin people up on their offer. 

His first assignment is to take out a major supporter of the Republican party, a multi-billionaire and industrialist named Elmore Bishop. Unlike the earlier assassinations that the Blue Fin Group had done, there is no ‘protection’ available this time. So the hit has to be timed and executed to perfection. This will be a real test of Henry’s skill and patience.

THE SPIRITS WITHIN

They were carrying with them, and had since they could remember, a number of spirits they could communicate with. One day, Jonah and Carolyn meet through a website that was keeping track of people carrying spirits like they were. They eventually fall in love and start to work both separately and together to build writing careers. Jonah wrote stories for films and video series. Carolyn was a novelist with a unique style. For most of their young lives, they had no idea why these spirits were residing within them, but they would soon discover the reason.

THE PASSION OF JOHNNY VALLONE

Together, they work out a plan to get her free from him. But Johnny has never done anything quite like this before, and the last thing he wants to do is mess it up, because that would mean certain death for both of them.

BLIND SIDE OF THE HEART

This is a story about revenge, and how Henry’s father prevails upon another Senator for help from a group formed to solve political problems, Blue Fin Consulting. Surprisingly, the assassination plot is not a political one against Henry’s father. The real reason has nothing to do with his invitation to run for president. In fact, it has nothing to do with politics at all.  But it’s an interesting puzzle for Henry and the Blue Fin people to solve.

BECOMING PHILLIPE FORNIER

Jason Whiteside was looking for a way to escape the inevitability of taking over the family business, and decide what he wants to do with his own life. After getting a degree in advanced mathematics from MIT, and with the help of his best friend, he ends up in Switzerland with a new identity and enough inherited money to live very comfortably. After a lot of thinking, he decides to start writing a story. This is something he has never tried before, but he feels pretty strongly that it could just be the thing he is looking for. 

   This is written in a ‘story within a story’ format. So there are actually two stories going on. How things will turn out for Jason, now Phillipe Fornier, will all depend on whether or not he is a real writer.

FRANKIE CARLINO'S LEGACY

So if Jakob is going to carry out his father’s dying wish, he and Joe Butler are going to have to come up with a new plan that doesn’t get Jakob thrown into jail.

THE HOMEGROWN ASSASSIN

There is a threat to his country and it’s right in the nation’s capital. With a little help from his new wife and a couple of older soldiers, he is going to rid the country of this threat. But to do it, he needs to basically commit the perfect crime.

WHEN I’M SIXTY FOUR

Joe Maughn is a retired ad agency copywriter who needs spinal surgery for an E-Coli infection. Just before his operation, his surgeon recruits Joe to participate in a test that involves injecting a small amount of a serum into his spinal fluid. After his surgery, he begins to notice a real change in his behaviour. He starts having vivid dreams with almost total recall of them, which he writes out, over the course of about five weeks, into three novels and one screenplay. Through an old advertising buddy who was now writing mysteries, Joe gets introduced to an agent/publisher who just loves his work. So at sixty-three, Joe is suddenly starting a second career, one which pays a lot more than his former one. The only thing that’s bothering Joe is just where all these stories are coming from.  

JULIET’S GIFT

A Shadow On The Sun is a tale about the future. Not sure it could be called science fiction though. Because the idea for this story came from events that are actually starting to take shape in the world in our own time. At its core, it’s a story about who controls the two most precious commodities in the world today which are water and energy.

THE VISITOR

The human name he chose was Ezra Birmingham. But he was not a human. He was an alien explorer from a planet more than three light years from Earth. His original mission was to assess and lay the groundwork for an invasion. But his mission parameters changed once he actually saw the potential for the inhabitants of Earth to evolve and become not slaves but partners with the inhabitants of his world. But in order to make that happen, there were a few things to take care of. And with a little help from an earthling friend, he should be able to pull it off. As his mission progresses, he decides to return to his home planet and realizes that his planet has been destroyed and only 106 of his people have managed to escape. So he brings them back to earth and places them strategically, so they can grow into positions of power and influence, and they can work together to make their new world better for everyone there.

On their first case they find out that this process is a little more complicated and dangerous than they thought.

THE FERLINGHETTI TWINS

The Ferlinghetti twins, Jason and Jenna, were educated and trained to take over control of their family’s shipping business. But it doesn’t take long for them to realize that the business runs so well, there is next to nothing for them to do. In the meantime, Jenna meets up with an old high school acquaintance named David North, a mechanical engineer who is also an aspiring songwriter and singer who lives with his brother, a major marijuana dealer. David has studied the music business in a lot of detail, and ends up getting both Jenna, who he develops a relationship with, and Jason, very interested in creating a music business of their own and having David as their first artist. 

A LITTLE RAY OF HOPE

And as they get to know each other decide that they could be a good songwriting team, and the songs could help launch Jenny into her own singing career.  This is the story of how this all came together and turned into a reality for both of them, with a few bumps along the way. 

HURRICANE SEASON

DEACON LOVES PENNY

After she explains it to Deacon, he decides to partner up with her and help her get her idea developed. This is a story about two smart young people who work their way to the top of the AI business in a short period, all of which was made possible by Deacon’s millions.

Jackson Tyler is a very wealthy ex-pat American independent investor and market player. Tim Wakefield is a former British soldier turned mercenary. They meet in a hotel bar in Naples, Italy. The two men become friends and as they get to know each other, Tim tells Jackson about a fellow he knows in England who had created some very interesting laser weaponry, and that he feels it’s a business opportunity worth investigating. Jackson is intrigued and decides to head to England with Tim to buy a large boat to live on and meet the inventor, Arthur Field. Once Jackson sees the weapons, he becomes convinced that this could be a key part of the future of law enforcement in the world. While they are there, two things happen. 1.Tim’s friend Arthur is violently attacked and his computer, with the designs for his laser weapons, is taken. 2. Jackson falls in love with Tim’s half-sister, Gina, who was helping them find the right boat to buy. This is the story of how Tim, Jackson, Arthur and Gina team up to turn Arthur’s laser weapon into an extremely profitable business.
