  PART II (EIGHT MONTHS LATER) ~ 18 ~ Henry Feather was lying on his bed looking up at the ceiling in his bedroom, in the house he shared with his father, a US Senator from Maryland, and their housekeeper Flora Neeley.   He had been back home for eight months from four years as a sniper in the US Army and, for the last few months had been working with his girlfriend and next-door neighbour Lucy Maxwell, as a writer and Lucy’s creative partner in the Baltimore-based marketing company that Lucy’s father owned.   It was a Saturday afternoon.
